Adoption and Change Management Freelance Consultant

We are looking for freelance* Adoption and Change Management (ACM) Consultants to join our team. As a freelance ACM Consultant, you will be participating in new business development, team enablement and delivery activities. Your primary focus will be on the adoption and usage of Microsoft Office 365 cloud productivity products.


New business development activities might include new offerings, marketing collateral and foundational business processes. You will be assisting in team enablement activities as we build ACM capabilities across the practice’s managed service offerings. As part of a delivery team, led by a Senior ACM Consultant, you will be delivering ACM offerings through traditional and non-traditional consulting models (particularly the Prosci ADKAR model).


If you are passionate about ACM and are ready to help shape how ACM is helping Microsoft customers create a more modern workplace in the cloud, we would like to hear from you. Experience with a defined change management methodology is desired, but not required. You will be expected to bring your passion for managing change as you are trained to develop and implement comprehensive change management plans that lead to sustained adoption of Microsoft technologies.


The core responsibilities of a freelance ACM Consultant include:

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities
  • Complete change management assessments and surveys
  • Analyzing and documenting an organization’s capacity for change
  • Identifying and engaging all groups impacted by the change
  • Determining adoption metrics that can be used to measure success and make adjustments to plans as needed
  • Developing training plans to help end-users develop the knowledge and ability required to be successful
  • Developing communication plans that align to client culture and business rhythm
  • Creating feedback mechanisms that will help sustain long term adoption
  • Mentoring and coaching client change teams
  • Create actionable deliverables
  • Support communication efforts
  • Support training efforts
  • Coordinate efforts with other consulting specialists
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
  • Track and report issues
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate as part of a team of professionals
  • Facilitate meetings with team and client contacts
  • Establish and manage client expectations while maintaining a positive, proactive and professional demeanor


Required expertise of a freelance ACM Consultant includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Anthropology, Psychology, Marketing, Business or related field/or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in management consulting, technology implementation, change management or related field expertise
  • Experience in a diverse set of industries highly preferable
  • Demonstrated track record of effective communication with technical and business leaders at all levels within large enterprises.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; experience with Prosci ADKAR Model is a plus.
  • Experience with delivery as part of a global engagement team
  • Multi-language skills are a plus

This position can be located anywhere in the US near a major international airport. Reimbursable US travel can be expected, on average, 25-35% of the time.
